LEAP-1B ENGINES BY SAFRAN.

The Boeing 737 MAX is equipped with CFM International LEAP–1B engines, one of the most advanced and efficient engines ever built for single–aisle commercial aircraft. These engines provide superior fuel efficiency, with a 15% improvement over previous designs. They also generate increased thrust, allowing the 737 MAX to take off quickly and climb rapidly. The LEAP–1B engine is manufactured by CFM International, a joint venture between GE Aviation and Safran Aircraft Engines. Previous designs of the engine include the CFM56, the world‘s most popular commercial jet engine, and the CFM International LEAP–1A, which has been powering the Airbus A320neo since 2016. With the LEAP–1B, Boeing has taken engine technology to the next level, creating an engine that is as powerful as it is efficient. However successful a project is, there is always room to improve and LEAP-1B engines are no exceptions. As reported in this article, the engines have their own draw backs which Safran has been addressing.
